First of three matches in this year's Spring League.
We had a full house today with 20 pegs available and 20 anglers fishing.
Unfortunately we were not blessed with Spring weather! In fact we had everything today, temperatures down to about 5 degrees Celsius. First we had rain, then we had Hail then it was nice and calm with a bit of blue sky and sun, then we had wind, rain and hail. Luckily the wet stuff stopped, although the wind continued to blow, but at least it dried the tackle out.
I think everyone was getting back into the swing of fishing matches, as many didn't fish the Winter League. We forgot to do the Golden Peg until after the match, but it didn't matter...it stayed safe!
Congratulations to Adam Hill today, he took the win with 10lb 14oz. This was his first win in a Senior match. Someone else to keep an eye on!
Well done everyone for putting up with todays 'changeable' weather conditions. All other matches this season will be 25 peg venues, so opportunities for others to join in the fun.
Photo's are once again on the Gallery page, see for yourself the weather we dealt with today.
Hope to see you at the next match on 26th April which is at Weston Pools near Oswestry.....Tightlines.. |
